Yet another beautiful day in Santa Cruz. I wish we could bottle it up and bring it to Boston with us next year. We could open it up on a cold winter day sometime in mid February, remembering the mild California climate that we have begun to take for granted.

We walked to the farm this afternoon. Because winter is approaching, the sun goes down much earlier now. We caught it just before it went down. The clouds were performing a wondrous show for us: like ripples of waves, or a blanket of cotton candy covering up a bright blue background.

As the sun was setting the kids were naming the different colors that the clouds captured from the setting sun. Blue clouds, Mommy! Purple clouds! Pink! Orange! Black! And you know what, they were right! Though the photos don't show it, we did see all those colors as we said goodbye to this gloriously beautiful day.
